Our Story

 My name is Melany Moredo - Diaz, I am the founder of Sharing the Spotlight. I was born in the United States, but my family is from Cuba. My whole life I have only been able to talk to most of my family virtually. Every time I was able to talk to my family in Cuba, they would always tell me how blessed I was, how many opportunities I have. It made me realize how they were living. Witnessing the issues and struggles they face daily; I felt a desire to bring awareness to these issues. Few people knew about what was going on, but no change is occurring. And then I realized that this was happening all over the world. This inspired me to create this organization dedicated to bringing awareness and bringing attention to their stories.
